Astérisque is an InsurTech startup founded by Janine Maurice, aiming to revolutionize the understanding of insurance contracts. The initial observation: insurance contracts are complex, non-standardized documents between insurers, making it virtually impossible for policyholders to truly understand what is covered. Astérisque is developing a SaaS platform that centralizes these contracts, analyzes them using artificial intelligence, and presents coverage in a clear and understandable way.
Each insurer structures their contracts differently: variable terminology, clauses spread across dozens of pages, nested guarantees. A system capable of understanding and normalizing this diversity had to be created.
AI had to not only extract data from contracts, but more importantly categorize and interpret them to produce relevant and reliable summaries — a trust challenge for a B2B and B2C product.
